Draft Conclusion – Project 3

Sponsorship, when viewed through different lenses allow for varying levels of literacy growth. In my opinion, a facilitating sponsor is the strongest and most common sponsor that results in positive literacy narratives. Of the crowdsourced narratives, there was conflicting data making it difficult to accurately differentiate between sponsor types and outcomes. Most of the sponsors within the literacy narratives used are teachers. Teachers have an important role in both literacy acquisition and on their students’ views on reading and writing. The idea that facilitating sponsors produce positive literacy narratives brings hope; if all teachers were facilitating sponsors, there would be an influx in positive narratives. As educators, their ambitions should be to facilitate, grow, and develop their students’ skills.
