For my significant writing project, I decided to use paper 3. For this project, we were asked to look at literacy narratives and analyze them for patterns. After reading literacy narratives and scholarly works about literacy narrative identities, we took a stand to affirm, add, or challenge the arguments in the scholarly works. The academic texts we worked with were: Heroes, Rebels, and Victims: Students Identities in Literacy Narratives by Bronwyn Williams, Sponsors of Literacy by Deborah Brandt, and Successes, Victims, and Prodigies: ‘Master’ and ‘Little’ Cultural Narratives in the Literacy Narrative Genre by Kara Alexander. I feel like this project offers the best representation of me analyzing text and applying it to my final project.
